In general, the cabin or the area around the car should not smell. In the cabin, odours are usually
limited to the smell of cabin material, as well as other objects that may have entered the cabin
frequently such as food.
Generally, the smell of fuel should also not enter the cabin or be smelled in the outside area of the
car with the fuel tank closed. However, what to check if the smell of fuel can be smelled from outside
or even inside the cabin?
1Leakage
One of the things that must be checked immediately is a line leak that causes fuel to come out of the fuel system. This is undoubtedly dangerous because it can trigger fires. Check the area that smells pungent and if it is wet, a leak can be suspected.
2Fuel Tank Seal
In most new cars, the fuel tank is in the middle, usually accessible from under the rear seat. In the fuel pump area, there is a seal to prevent fuel from escaping and to prevent the smell of fuel from escaping. If this seal is dry, it may cause the smell of fuel to enter the cabin.
3Breather Valve
The fuel tank requires a breather valve to prevent air from being sucked in by the fuel pump. If this valve does not work, then the smell of fuel may come out.
We recommend that you immediately check at least these three things if the car emits a strong smell of fuel for safety reasons.
If the old tyres of the car have been damaged, then immediately replace them with the latest Accelera tyres for the same reason. Moreover, Accelera has a complete line of tyres to meet a variety of different needs.
